I can understand how folks can get a little "full of themselves" when things are going their way, and Apple has much to crow about with the success of the iPod, iPhone & iPad, of late. And yet before it becomes extremely successful, it seems Steve Jobs is about to make the biggest mistake ever, forcing the rest of the world to change, for him. Ok, so 70% of websites online offer some kind of Flash content. Even though FLASH wasn't designed for a touch interface, it's used by such a vast audience, that to not have it's capabilities dramatically limits the user's experience of that website. So my question to Steve Jobs is: Where does it stop? If the entire world replaces flash with something acceptable for Steve Jobs, how long will that take? 1 year, 2 years, 3 years? So basically, I'm 3+ years from purchasing an iphone or an ipad. (BY THE WAY, iPad needs a WEBCAM, and iPhone needs a FLASH for it's camera), before I can use it to get at all the content available to me. And let's say the world up and bowed to Steve Jobs and complied, do we really think this would be the only time Steve Jobs would require us to abandon something else when he creates another innovation? And I WANT TO GET AN IPHONE & AN IPAD, however, I'm not going backwards in time. I'm not willing to purchase new, sleek, cool, devices that only offer me 30% of the world's websites. I really, REALLY want to get on-board with the iPad. I love it's design, I love the concept, and I like where it's going. But don't ask me to abandon EVERYTHING I have because Steve Jobs doesn't like Adobe Flash. So Steve Jobs, telling the customer what they want, instead of listening to what your existing customers want is, well, an interesting approach to business, and I don't know many that do it well. Get off your Flash position and be a part of the solution!
