I had the great fortune this year to spend Christmas with my dearest friend, Leslie, and her family, at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. You may have noticed a high-volume of tweets about my activities at Disney.
Yes, I'm a bit of a Disney World fanatic. No one creates magic better than Disney, and they do it everyday. We stayed at the lovely Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel. On Christmas Eve, I spent the day Park-Hopping and getting familiar with the Resort transportation options I was previously unaware of. I took the Friendship boats from the Swan/Dolphin to both Hollywood Studios & EPCOT, as well as taking Disney buses for the first time to Animal Kingdom. And of course, I rode the Monorail around the Magic Kingdom line and EPCOT line, just because it's fun. I also stayed and watched the Magic Kingdom's Holiday Wishes Fireworks Spectacular. The video below is the best one on Youtube I could find of the fireworks show. WALT DISNEY WORLD'S MAGIC KINGDOM HOLIDAY WISHES FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR Part 1

Majel Roddenberry, widow of Star Trek creator, Gene Roddenberry, died in her sleep shortly after midnight Thursday, 12/18/2008. She was surrounded by family loved ones.
I never had the opportunity to meet Majel, however I've always been a fan of her various roles in the Star Trek universe, as well as one of her post Star Trek productions, Earth: Final Conflict. Majel had personally responded to an email I had sent to Earth: Final Conflict's website. I unfortunately no longer have the email due to a computer crash, but I was thrilled to have received a message from her, it was truly like being touched by Star Trek royalty. One of my personal favorite characters she portrayed in Star Trek: The Next Generation was that of Deanna Troi's mother, Lwaxana Troi. She was such a vibrant character and was always flirting with Captain Picard. Thank you Majel for the delightfully entertaining characters you brought to life. Majel fans will get one more treat to her computer voice in the upcoming Star Trek movie due out in May 2009.
